oikos is an ecological enterprise working in the field of ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation, since 2002. oikos mainly works with private land owners who wish to develop their lands in tune with nature and local ecosystems. oikos offers specific services in ecological assessment, biodiversity mapping, ecological master planning for lands, plantation planning using native plants, ecological landscape designing for gardens, land use mapping and planning for village watersheds, documentation of sacred groves and evolving conservation plans for the same etc. Along with this land based work, oikos also has been working in nature education, mainly for school kids and has developed a syllabus for 5th to 7th grade named ‘Nisargshala’. Have developed a nursery for native plants. Has been active in spreading awareness about native plants by preparing different brochures or lists that can be used easily by people.
