Passionate about working in nature restoration, Isha Bhate has worked in ecological assessment and planning and application of restorative principles in Northern Western Ghats, Central Deccan Plateau dry deciduous and scrub forests, broad leaf – pine forests – alpine meadows in Uttarakhand in upper Pindar catchment. One of the core areas of the work is to improve biodiversity in industrial settings through plantation of native flora species in green belts and creation of habitats, capacity building of stakeholders in ecology, so that though the landuse has changed to industry, the land parcel retains a degree of continuity with the eco-system that it is a part of and does not become an exotic island.
