I live in Changlangshu village, Nagaland located near the Indo-Myanmar border. It’s one of the remotest place from the state capital. In 2015 I joined the first batch of Green Hub, where I acquired skills in photography, videography and video editing. Prior to this, I had no idea about this field and didn’t have any background knowledge about environment and wildlife conservation. It was during my one year fellowship in Green Hub that changed me and taught me what the environment means to us.
Post the fellowship I went back to my village and with a few like-minded friends formed the Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) in 2018, registered under the Nagaland State Biodiversity Board. Currently our team is working on the forest restoration work in our own capacity and also initiating documentations of biodiversity. Now, I’m currently serving as the Chairman, BMC Changlangshu.
