My connection to nature was shaped in my childhood by the landscapes of the Western Ghats in Pune. Observing seasonal changes, tracking local wildlife and understanding native ecosystems deepened my appreciation for biodiversity and the need for its restoration.
As an environmental economist, conservation advocate and artist, I strive to bridge the gap between ecological restoration and sustainability finance. My work focuses on mapping local ecosystems, studying climate change impacts on biodiversity, and contributing to riverbank and urban forest restoration efforts. I am particularly interested in how economics and climate finance can be leveraged to support large-scale, long-term ecological restoration efforts that benefit both biodiversity and local communities. Beyond advocacy, I express my passion for nature through art, using physical mediums to highlight themes of resilience, climate justice, and the intricate beauty of the natural world.
Through ERA-India, I aim to foster knowledge-sharing, advocate for responsible restoration practices, and encourage community-driven conservation efforts that align ecological sustainability with socio-economic priorities.
