Rudre Malik holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore. He has worked as a policy researcher, development sector consultant and a landscape designer with numerous organizations in diverse projects. His primary interests lie in exploring human-environment interactions of pastoral communities in the Himalayan mountain ecosystems and examining the politics of knowledge and science that influence their current status.
Rudre enjoys reading literature, making music and cooking in his free time. He believes that ecological restoration should be initiated with looking at the specific ecological habitats and indigenous knowledge systems, and that power plays a central role in shaping ecosystems and its inhabitants.
