I have a master’s in economics, and a more recent one in environment and ecology. As part of the latter, my research was carried out with traditional ecological knowledge of an indigenous community of the Goa Western Ghats that explored the interplay of pastoralism, millet cultivation and the ecology of the Western Ghats at higher elevations. This has given me the grounding that, along with my two decades of professional experience, would hopefully bring a holistic perspective to the conservation and ecological restoration space.
I am keen to work in the space of ecological restoration and combine modern scientific methods with traditional knowledge, also engaging communities ground up. I recently interned at an ecotourism campsite attempting habitat restoration in the Sahyadris, which gave me the opportunity to document the baseline biodiversity of the site.
