Rishi Sharma

Rishi serves as the Science and Policy Lead for the Himalaya Conservation Program at WWF-India. His main areas of focus encompass conservation biology, the human dimensions of conservation, high-altitude rangelands, and the efficacy of conservation programs.

Possessing a Ph.D. in Ecology, Rishi conducted research on snow leopards, culminating in a thesis titled “A multi-scale study of habitat use and abundance of the endangered Snow Leopard Panthera uncia.” Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Wildlife Science from the Wildlife Institute of India.

Motivated by a passion for tackling conservation challenges in High Asia, Rishi endeavors to blend ecology, social sciences, and traditional community wisdom to discover solutions for some of the urgent conservation issues.
