Pooja Choksi

Independent Researcher

I am a restoration scientist and National Geographic Explorer working in human-dominated landscapes in India. Broadly, I work on questions related to the multidimensional drivers and outcomes of ecological restoration. My previous research in central India explores the impact of restoration through the removal of an understory invasive species on soundscapes (and other biodiversity measures), people’s livelihoods and vegetation regeneration. I hold a Ph.D. from the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology at Columbia University.
