I completed my PhD from the Indian Institute of Science in ecology and I currently work as a Scientist at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun. I’ve been interested in nature and wildlife since my schooling days, largely because of my mother, travelling with whom I got an early exposure to the diverse habitats and ecosystems of our country. Although I am interested in all groups of organisms, I take special interest in plants. I am fascinated by their diversity and ubiquity. I have spent most of my last 10 years exploring plants across the Western Ghats mountain chain. Lately, I have been trying to get young students, non-botanists and other nature enthusiasts interested in observing and identifying plants.
