Social development specialist

Krishna Srinivasan

Samerth Charitable Trust

I am a social development specialist working with adivasi communities in natural resource management and livelihoods development space since last 24 years. Forestry has been my primary area of interest and work, specifically non timber forest produce and its various facets (ecological, socio-cultural, economic and legal).

I have also branched out into working with agriculture and natural resources-based livelihoods. Demystifying legal, ecological and economic aspects for the communities engaged in natural resources-based livelihoods has also been a cornerstone of my work.

I have had the opportunity to work with diverse socio-geo-political-economic regions spread across 8 States of the country. Currently I lead the Chhattisgarh state program of Samerth anchoring watershed development, natural resource management, and landscape restoration, along with resilient agriculture, forest management (utilizing the FRA framework) and educational programs in the ever changing climatic conditions in adivasi dominated regions.
