I have been working with WWF-India, Darjeeling since 2008. Prior to joining WWF-India, I was working as a teacher at Orange Lake School and as horticulture faculty at Senior Secondary School, Chakung, Sikkim. I have done my MSc- Botany with Plant Taxonomy and Ecology.
After joining WWF-India, I have been exposed to many aspects of conservation, which has given me the opportunity to work on the restoration of degraded forests & habitats, studying the biodiversity of tea gardens, finding out the status of Asiatic Black Bear at Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, spring-shed rejuvenation, promoting responsible tourism, promoting improved cooking stoves, imparting education and awareness to the general public and students on biodiversity of Darjeeling Hills, and addressing issues around plastic waste.
