Research Fellow, Coexistence Consortium

I am trained ecologist, currently working on Human-Sarus interaction in Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh Under Coexistence Consortium Fellowship. I have graduated in Forestry and post graduated in Environment management from Forest research Institute, Dehradun.

I possess 7 years of experience in research on population ecology (mainly avian species) and community-based conservation. My work involved strengthening the Biodiversity Management Committees for long term conservation goals in different landscape mainly the Kutch and Himalayan region in India.

I was also a part of the Moving Upstream Fellowship where I walked more than 200 km along Betwa river and document the diversity, culture, community, challenges and relationship with river in Bundelkhand region 2019. My main domain of interest is to understand the Human and Non-human interaction by documenting the experiential knowledge and traditional institution of communities for making conservation action plan. I strongly believe that the folklore has way to understand the human history, culture and humans’ relationship with nature. My education and training in forestry also inspired me to develop indigenous tree nursery in my own land.
