Aranya Bagchi

I am an ecologist with a passion for habitat restoration, rewilding, and sustainable landscape design. Over the past few years, I have focused on transforming landscapes to enhance biodiversity and ecological health. In the Lake District (United Kingdom), I worked on converting a conifer monoculture into a diverse, mixed-native species broadleaf forest.

My approach integrates ecological restoration with sustainable land management. I specialize in tailoring solutions to the unique characteristics of each property, whether it’s through organic farming, permaculture principles, or biodiversity-focused practices. I enjoy collaborating with farm and landowners to explore innovative ways of maximizing both the ecological and functional value of their land.

Currently, I am exploring freelance opportunities and partnerships with organizations and individuals involved in sustainable landscape design. I am particularly interested in projects in South India, where I can bring my expertise to support land-use planning, organic farming, and ecological restoration. My ultimate goal is to create landscapes that are climate-resilient, functional, and beneficial for both people and the environment, while aligning with sustainable and regenerative principles.
